Asian Bodywork Therapy Degrees
If you’ve always enjoyed working with your hands, and like to make people feel healthier and more relaxed, you might have a future in the field of Asian bodywork therapy. This is a new and exciting career path that has not yet made its way into many people’s thinking when they consider health therapies and relaxation techniques. If you are interested in pursuing this type of career, you will need to receive accredited training in a variety of different therapeutic Asian bodywork techniques, like acupressure, Shiatsu, and Thai massage. These are ancient therapeutic methods that have been used in Asia for many centuries, and when you learn them you will also obtain an appreciation for the culture from which they have emerged. Most programs for this type of training will result in an associate’s degree, or specialty licensure to become a certified Asian bodywork practitioner. As society has become more and more concerned with natural health and holistic therapies, there has been an increase in the demand for qualified bodywork therapists. Currently, a well trained therapist would be able to command an average salary of about $39,850 depending on location and experience. Because alternative therapy is becoming more integrated into traditional medicinal techniques, the demand for professionals in this field is expected to increase.
