Child Development Degrees
Children are our future, and they are the light of their parent’s lives. In today’s complicated economy, however, many parents are forced to maintain their jobs or even take on additional jobs just to make ends meet. For those with younger families, this means that they have to find quality child care for their children while they are away at work. The field of child development is a very dynamic career, and most report that they are very fulfilled and satisfied with their responsibilities of taking care of children and keeping them entertained. Most child care workers in the United States go into business for themselves, typically providing private day care for children out of their own homes. Others choose to start businesses outside the home, or go to work for day care facilities that already exist. If you are interested in child development as your career, you should know that most states require that you attend some sort of child care training course, and fulfill their particular requirements for licensure and/or certification. Some professionals in this field choose to pursue two or four year degrees in early childhood development so that they will have the choice to work in schools and commercial settings as well. The future is considered to be bright for professionals in this field, who are expected to earn around $11 an hour.
