Health Care Administration Degrees
Although we think of hospitals and doctor’s offices as a places that we can seek medical attention at any time of day or night, we rarely think about all the logistics of making sure that a large facility of this nature has the staff on hand to take care of us at all times. Doctors and nurses have to focus on treatment plans and patient welfare at all times, so it is actually the job of the health care administrator to make sure that all staff are present when necessary, and that services as running as smoothly as possible. Typically, a bachelor’s degree or higher in health services administration is necessary to be considered for this type of job. Most administrators don’t work in the actual health care part of the hospital, but instead spend their time in a separate office setting. Individuals interested in this job should have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as being able to operate administrative technology with ease. In most cases, a senior administrator will be in a managerial role over several other administrative assistants. The health care industry is going through many changes, and top health care administrators must be ready to roll with the punches and adapt. This means that health care administrators are in high demand and are regularly able to make salaries around $95,000 a year.
