It is important that these medical assistants have good communication skills and the ability to work with medical professionals in a supportive capacity. These days the medical industry is experiencing a period of rapid growth, thanks to increased access to health insurance and the longer lifespan of elderly people. This means that the demand for qualified medical assistants is expected to grow quickly over the next ten years. The average salary for a well trained assistant is $29,720, depending on experience.
