Physical Therapist Training Degrees
Have you ever experienced an illness or injury that took away your mobility and your ability to live an independent life? These can be frustrating and scary situations in which people find it hard to come to terms with the fact that an injury has made it necessary to relearn how to walk, talk, and interact with other people on daily basis. Those that have been prescribed physical therapy by their health care professional already know that they have a long road ahead of them, and it helps to know that they will have the encouragement and instruction of well trained physical therapists there with them every step of the way. If you’re interested in a career that will allow you to be directly involved with people’s physical rehabilitation, you should know that most employers require students to have completed a post-baccalaureate degree from an approved physical therapy program in order to practice legally. These degrees can take anywhere from two to four years to complete, and there is also a national certification exam from the complete. To be successful in this field, future physical therapists must be able to work with a wide variety of people, and to communicate instruction as well as encouragement in stressful situations. Because so many people are being required to complete physical therapy following an injury, the demand for well trained physical therapists is on the rise. The average salary for physical therapists is around $77,630.
