Somatic Bodywork Therapy Degrees
These days, many people are becoming interested in more natural and holistic ways of improving their health and living fuller lives. This is often referred to as alternative therapy or holistic therapy, and there are many different modalities and techniques that fall under these headings. If you are interested in natural living that isn’t dependent on chemical drugs or conventional doctors, you might want to consider a career in somatic bodywork therapy. There are many different kinds of bodywork, and generally, they all refer to a principle of thinking of the body and mind as very connected and dependent on one another to achieve total wellness. Those that are living in pain because of poor posture, pain, headaches and migraines, limited range of motion and constant strain are usually referred to a somatic bodywork therapist in order to correct their issues naturally. Somatic bodywork therapists are usually required to train under an accredited or licensed instructor in order to become proficient in the major modalities, like Alexander, Feldenkrais, Rolfing, and Hanna. Most people that obtain their certification in this form of therapy end up working as an independent therapist or they join a holistic therapy practice that already exists. Because more people are choosing alternative therapy, the demand for well trained somatic body workers is growing, and the average salary falls around $33.47 an hour.
