Medical Transcription
Description: As a medical transcriptionist, you listen to dictated recordings made by physicians and other health care professionals and transcribe them into medical reports, correspondence and other administrative material. You often listen to recordings on a headset, using a foot pedal to pause the recording when necessary, and key the text into a personal computer, editing as necessary for grammar and clarity. Medical transcriptionists working in hospitals transcribe different types of reports, including emergency room notes, histories and physical examinations, consultations, discharge summaries, x-rays, diagnostic studies and pathology results. In addition to working on-site at hospitals, clinics and physician offices, you can also conduct off-site transcription services from your home.

Practical Nursing
Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be able to work in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices, and assisted living facilities. This program is approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, the Department of Education, and ACICS.
