Close to work or home, Texas School of Business offers four convenient locations in the Houston metro area.

Areas of Study may vary by location. Additional academy training may be required for law enforcement positions. Certain positions may require additional training, licensing, or certification. Applicants to the Criminal Justice program in the state of Texas will require additional training approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) upon graduation in order to seek the following positions: police officer, peace officer, sheriff deputy, bailiff, and jailer. Paralegals are not lawyers and cannot practice law or give legal advice.

    Description: Our medical office programs offer in-depth training to help prepare you for work in a doctor's office, hospital or insurance agency. With a focus on skills like scheduling appointments, transcribing medical information, filing patient records and handling insurance forms, we could help you on your way to an entry-level position in a medical office.

  • Diploma: Dental Assistant

    Description: The Dental Assistant program prepares students for entry-level positions as dental assistants in dental offices, clinics or lab environments, with the skills needed for advancement in the dental field, depending upon the student's goals. The program teaches students how to assist a dentist and perform tray setups. Students have the opportunity to learn about patient care techniques, infection control and sterilization, medical emergencies, taking dental x-rays, making dental impressions, various dental instruments, oral evacuation, fixed prosthodontics, pharmacology and pain control and preventive dentistry. Students may take the individual courses separately.

  • Diploma: Medical Assistant

    Description: The Registered Medical Assistant program includes instruction in both the clinical and administrative aspects of medical assisting, anatomy and physiology, and CPR certification. Students have the opportunity to practice the skills they learned in class during their externship. Graduates of this program may perform duties in both the administrative and clinical areas of a doctor's office, clinic, or other medical facilities. Specific duties may include assisting the physician with exams and minor surgery, administering medication, performing electrocardiographs, phlebotomy, minor laboratory procedures, and vital signs, interviewing patients for medical histories, medical record documentation, reception duties, insurance billing, and bookkeeping duties.

  • Diploma: Medical Office Specialist

    Description: The Medical Office Specialist program can prepare you with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits required for entry-level positions in private physicians' offices, clinics, hospital clerical departments, professional medical facilities The program focuses on computerized medical procedures in insurance, bookkeeping, word processing and transcription. A medical office specialist will fill duties such as filing insurance claims for group and private practice insurance, preparing DRG's, completing medical transcriptions, performing reception duties and taking responsibility for accounts, patient files as well as payroll and financial statements.
