Westwood College is an institution of higher learning founded in Denver, Colorado in 1953. Today, Westwood has 14 campuses across California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois and Virginia and an online campus.* Westwood offers a unique hands-on, career-focused curriculum providing three-year bachelor’s degrees in high-growth fields. We have more than 13,000 students enrolled in one of our degree programs in business, design, technology, industrial services, justice and healthcare. Associate Degree - Medical Assisting
Description:
Westwood College medical assisting diploma or degree will give you the skills and training you'll need to support the doctors and nurses of a medical facility and help them provide quality healthcare to their patients. Your courses will be modeled after the workplace, giving you the valuable experience you'll need as you enter this field. Both the 12-month diploma and 17-month associate programs, taught by real-world teaching professionals, offer students:
- instruction in healthcare terminology, procedures and administration as well as front-and back-office functions in the medical field
- an externship providing students with hands-on job training
- coursework to help prepare you for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification exam*
*Westwood prepares graduates for certification. Graduates wishing to attain certification must take and pass any applicable exams.
